The ongoing search for solutions for supplementation and supplementation in sport also offers new perspectives in supporting aerobic endurance. If you feel short of breath when practising sport, discover the new solutions available.
Ultraoxy is now in the Sprintade.com catalogue
We are pleased to host on Sprintade.co.uk Ultraoxy, an innovative tool for sports oxygen supplementation. Ultraoxy shares with Sprintade® the search for a protocol for improving aerobic performance, i.e. our mission: ‘to make technologies that until now were only useful for professional sport available to everyone’.
Ultraoxy revises the concept of the oxygen cylinder, a product known until now perhaps only to mountaineers and those involved in mountain sports. Thanks to its innovative format, Ultraoxy introduces oxygen supplementation to all sportsmen and women, with a cylinder that is practical, safe and easy to use. It is also suitable to be carried in your water bag or backpack.
The pilot study on oxygen supplementation
Ultraoxy undertook a pilot study on oxygen supplementation in endurance and team sports (e.g. football). Until now, studies on oxygen supplementation have only been conducted on clinical cases (dyspnoea linked to pneumological or neurological conditions). The study carried out is therefore a pioneering step in this direction.
The aim is to understand whether the introduction of oxygen through devices such as Ultraoxy is able to:
- Improve VO2 max,
- Consequently improve performance,
- Reduce the need for muscle recovery

Results of oxygen supplementation in sport
This pilot study yielded promising results. Oxygen supplementation for a period of between 30 and 45 seconds during or before sport (approximately 8 inhalations of Ultraoxy) has shown that it can delay entry into the phases where breathing becomes laboured, as happens at threshold 4 or 5 of HRmax.
But what does this entail? Potentially – we are still at the level of hypotheses – less general fatigue and less lactic acid production.
A protocol for improving breathing during sport
Genetics and training are certainly the two most important factors when we talk about aerobic threshold, VO2max and the ability to maintain regular breathing. The support of tools such as Ultraoxy or supplements such as Sprintade® ATP BOOSTER or NITRED® can positively influence the ability to bring blood and oxygen to the muscles, delay the point at which breathing becomes laboured, and reduce the negative effects of intense physical exertion.
7-8 intense inhalations of Ultraoxy then for over 30 seconds is a protocol to be followed before or during training to support aerobic performance. In combination with the protocol offered by Sprintade®, benefits can be obtained with respect to breaking breath.
